When you park at the Green Lot or the McNamara Terminal and North Terminal parking garages, you are not directed to the nearest parking space. Normally, you will be able to find a parking space after a couple of minutes. However, finding parking can become more of a problem especially around the holidays when parking is in high demand and spaces are limited.
You may be thinking, “It will take so much longer to get to Detroit Airport if I park at an off-site facility.” Actually, that’s not the case!
When you arrive, you will be directed to park in a specified row. While you park, the shuttles will be notified of your parking location so they can pick you up quickly. Board the shuttle for a short, 5 minute drive to the curbside of Detroit Airport. After being dropped off, you will only need to ascend an elevator to walk to the DTW terminals.
